Default Annoying Light Problem

Ok, so my 98 Dodge Ram started leaving its parking lights (possibly brake lights) on when the truck is off. This started when the battery was unhooked and reattached (resetting the alarm). I disengaged the alarm and the lights stay on. I even pulled the parking lights fuse and the lights stay on. The only way I can get them to stay off is if I unhook the battery. What could be possible causes of this, and what are possible fixes? Thanks a bunch.

First, is it the parking lights or the brake lights? Front and rear or just rear lights? If it's just the rearlights, and you pulled the fuse for the parking lights, that would explain why the rears remained on. If it is just the rear tails, my guess is it's the brake lights and the brake switch (located near the brake pedal) has gone bad, keeping power "on" to the brake lights all the time. Hey, I could be all wet here, it's just a thought.

check your relays under the hood also, if you pull the right fuse of relay you will not get any power to the lights

Well, the yellow lights on the front stayed on, as did the white lights near my rear license plate, and (I think) my rear brake lights were on faintly. In any case, this had happened before and was fixed by disabling my alarm system. In this case, I unhooked the battery for half an hour and it stopped for now and hasn't happened again. Does Dodge ship their trucks with retarded alarm systems or something?
