Default Bedliners Spray Vs Drop In

im looking forward to getting a new bedliner for my truck! i went to the rhino liner shop yesterday and the guy showed me some (HORROR) pics of new trucks that the bed rusted out in just a year due to drop in bed liners. he said that water and all sorts of other stuff makes its way inbetween the bedliner and the bed of the truck and then will rust out the bed of your truck in no time. NOW was this just a way for the guy to get me to spend the almost $500.00 for the rhino liner VS $150.00 for a nice drop in liner, or is this a real problem that i should consider when trying to decidewhetherto get the drop in liner or the spray on liner????

Depends on the use of the truck, and who well it's cleaned/maintained. The Rino is worth the money to me.
If you don't mind constant removal and cleaning of the drop in, they it's fine. If you do go with a drop in though, I have found a few rolls of duct tape come in handy. Run tape on the ribs and the wheel humps (also on the bed rails ect); pretty much where there is contact. It will help reduce the rubbing and paint wear that lead to the rust. I live in Fl, and the fine white sand gets in. It acts like sandpaper; without the tape, it eats the paint for lunch!

I have had them all and just did ALpha liner in my new truck. LOVE IT!!!!

I would never own a truck with a drop in liner, and never own a truck without a spray in bed liner!!!

I live in the north east -- lots of snow - Ice -Rain & salt -- I've had both drop-ins an the Rhino liner--- if you want the truck to last and look good -- Spray on is clearly the way to go-- if the truck is a work vehicle with a limited life span and heavy use then a drop in will serve you well--- I will only use spray in linners until something better comes done the pike.

I'd also suggest Line-X. They won a contract with the government to reinforce skyskrapers with Line-X material to help bomb proof them. So, guess it's good to know if a bomb goes off in the back of my truck I'm a little better protected.

This answered my question in the 3rd Gen forum about spray on liners. I`m gonna take out my drop in and go with the spray on. I don`t want unsightly duct tape in my truck bed.
