Default not shifting

car lacks power on initial acceleration. it picks up speed but i dont hear it shift. when i put it in 2 it does'nt downshifts. what do i need to do? or check, replace. thanks. automatic stealth r/t.

somebody mentioned the same problem on here before. I can't remember what was the problem but i think the trans was stuck on overdrive or something like that. i think it's more of a computer or sensor problem.also i think "thestealth" have some more info on that issue

most likely its the tcu.....had the same prob with mine.... the tcu out of a 92 diamonte or a 91 or 92 steath/3000gt is the same. diamontes are easier to find than stealths or 3000gt when takin a trip to the bone yard.

btw... there is no take off powr and you dont hear it shift because it is in "limp mode" this puts the trany in second gear and thats where it stays.
might want to check the fuse. the tcu in 91 and 92s had the same problem as the ecu. a good tv shop can replace the capacitors for a lot cheaper then gettin a new one(if your board is saveable)

hi i was wondering how much it cost you to fix this overdrive issue because a friend of mine wants to sell her stealth and i was wondering how much it would cost to fix that overdrive problem so that i know if i should buy it or not. thanks (its a 91 24 v DOHC?non turbo stealth) also is it possible to install nitro tanks into the car to turn it into a super turbo??

just got my rebuilt tcu. car runs perfect. got it at autoexchangecomputer.com. $325.00. $50.00 core. 1 year warranty. shipped overnight. i recommend this place if you need ecu and tcu. or you can call 18886648787.

i remember there was another place that can rebuild computers, i'll have to search for it tho
EDIT: found it- ECMTOGO.com i know they rebuild ecu's and should rebuild tcu's

Considering your question was not very consise as to "that overdrive problem," how do expect much help?

Yev is right, ECMTOGO.com can repair all the control units for these cars.

BTW turd, her problem and your problem (from what little information you offered) are not the same.
