valve adjustment

However, if I'm not mistaken, I don't think there is a "valve adjustment" procedure on the 3S.

Generally, the noise you are hearing is lifter tick (as rod knock is generally pretty pronounced and noticable).
From the service manual, slowly rev the engine (in neutral) to 3000 rpms, then slowly allow the engine to come back to idle speed. You may have to repeat the process a couple times. Usually, this will prime all the lifters (lash adjusters) and the ticking will subside.
There is a spring on the clutch pedal, the clutch itself is hydralically operated.
if i pin point what lifter it is can i only change out that whats needed or do i have to do all of them?what type of oil should i use in this car it has 120,000 . synthetic or light /heavy motor oil? thanks
Well, yes... you could do one. But since you'd already be in there, you might as well do them all. Besides, if you do only one, you won't be getting the benefit of the 3rd gen lifters. You'd have one that has the 3mm opening while the others still have 1mm.
