Lifters collapsed-Black Stealth TT
In one of my previous post's you mention to make sure a lifter hasen't collapsed and the valve train is working properly. When I start the car the engine idles perfectly. It's when your doing about 30 mph that it has a miss. Before the oil change it had the dreaded lifter tick. I changed the oil and filter and I put a quart of Risoline in to see if that would stop the tick. At first it didn't but when I drove it for 50 miles the tick was gone. Have test drove it many times and have left it idle in the garage for period of time and no sign of the lifter tick. The engine is very quiet. Back to the lifter question. How would you know that a lifter has collapsed? Wouldn't the engine be very noisy? Like I said the engine does not make any noise and the tick is gone. Thanks!
