Default No Spark !

Car was sitting with the battery dead for 6 months. Purchased new battery and car cranks fine, but will not start? Getting it ready for smog, so I replaced plugs, wires, and the valve cover gaskets. Still no spark ? When I turn the key on everything lights up properly, and the Check engine lite comes on briefly, blinks and turns off as normal. Can also hear the fuel Pump?? It seemed to be running fine before it was parked?
Have done a lot of reading, and I dont think its the ECU main Relay next to the ECU beacuse I can hear the fuel pump. I dont think its the ECU beacuse of the self check it does with the engine check light? I already ordered a new Ignition module which was covered in oil from a leaking valve cover, Other than that I am sort of clueless

Any help would be appreciated @!

Rick

Did you miss hooking something up when you were putting it back together?

It was a no spark condition when I started. I needed to get it ready for smog, is why the replacements. So not too surprised it exhibited the same condition after I finished. So back to square one ;_)

Is that one DIS? Or is there actually a distributor?

Replaced worn battery cables, and battery, plugs wires, and valve cover gaskets, like I mentioned before

OK, that's DIS, so, could be a whole host of different things, anything from a bad crank sensor, to a failed ignition module. Do you have a scanner you can plug in, see if the PCM sees the engine turning?

I'm going to pick up some alligator clips leads, later on today. Since I have to use them with a voltmeter to pull the codes, Older 1 version PCM

May or may not be any codes...... That's why I want data.

Do you have wiring diagrams for your car by any chance? (factory service manual?) If you don't have the factory manual, I would HIGHLY recommend finding one.
