New to me Stealth
Hold your breath?
Yeah, that looks like SOHC to me though. I think the turbo motors got the DOHC.
Given you got the car in kit form, I would HIGHLY recommend finding a Factory Service manual for it. You can generally find 'em on EBay, or Amazon, for 30-40 bucks for a PDF version.

I have ordered some hard copy manuals, and also some PDFs. I have discovered a lot about this car in 2 days. I put it all back together, and did some tests. A compression check, and a cylinder leak down test. All the numbers were pretty dismal. While cranking it over for the compression test, there was a massive oil leak. It seemed to be coming from right behind the AC unit. AND there was a LOT of water in the oil. There was no water in the oil when I got the car, so I don't kn ow what to think about that. I took it aparet again, and repeated the leak down test. To ensure the valves were closed, I removed the lifters. The numbers were still dismal.
Cyl 1 80% Air escaping from from spark plug hole cylinder 5
Cyl 2 40% Air escaping from spark plug hole cylinder 5 I can actually hear fluid bubbling when I apply air to cylinder2
Cyl 3 80% Air escaping from intake manifold
Cyl 4 80% Air escaping from intake manifold.
Cyl 5 80% Air escaping from exhaust pipe
Cyl 6 40% Air escaping from spark plug hole cylinder 5
With the results of this test, I would say at bare minimum, a valve job is in order.
With the large oil leak and the amount of water in the oil, what are the opinions?
Head gaskets?
Cracked block?
Cracked head?
Broken intake manifold?
All of the above?
Thanks ahead of time for any insight.
.
On top of that, while trying to get an OBD code, I discovered a very small toggle switch mounted under the dash. Long story short, some one has installed a remote start/alarm system on this car. It is NOT a plug and play. I have installed them myself. There is no name on the control box, so I have no idea where it came from, or how to get rid of it. Do I simply unplug it, and forget it? As afr as the OBD codes, once I found out how to obtain them, there were none.

I would be real tempted to just look for another motor....... I really don't know enough about them fellers for any better recommendations. It's possible you might be able to get a Japanese Domestic Market engine for a reasonable price. Something to check into in any event.
Yeah, that's the 12 valve SOHC base Mitsubishi engine. The engine output is different than the versions used in the K-cars. I'm by no means an expert but the only one I would know to look for would be the version used in the 3000GT. These weren't bulletproof engines but there not too bad either. Best of luck to you. Unless you like the fun of a project, you might want to look for a better example.
I can appreciate that. Hope you provide updates for us. Those are fun cars even with the base engine. I have thought about buying one of those before but never did it ( if there was a way to swap a Chrysler v6 engine in it I would have done it but not possible).
