RE: Starting but is not ideling.
K...before i buy an AIC..these are the numbers I got from testing it while still installed.
35.4 between 1&2, 2&3, 5&6
38.7 between 4&5
Numbers seem a bit high....I tought that if the number was smalled the resistance was less....wich should have a negative inpact.
Dont have a clue what higher number mean in terms of performance.
Does it mean the AIC is bad ?

RE: Starting but is not ideling.
Yes, a smaller number indicates less resistance (ohms).
Your numbers are just a little bit high, but that could be the calibration of your volt/ohm meter.
Test procedure, per Stealth316
To perform this test, measure the resistance between terminals 2 and 1, between 2 and 3, between 5 and 4, and between 5 and 6. The resistance should be in the range of 28 to 33 ohms

RE: Starting but is not ideling.
I cheked the wiring diagram....and this is what the pins represent.
1. ECU
2. Fuel
3. ECU
4. ECU
5. Fuel
6. ECU
Considering my recorder resistance between 4 & 5 is almost 39...there is not enough curent going trough that coil to activate it resulting in turning off the fuel flow.
When i get the new IAC I will test both and compare the numbers while off the engine..dohh...that should tell me if its bad or not.

Tanks for the input everyone.....

RE: Starting but is not ideling.
Took one more messurement with the IAC of the engine...and while it was cooled...I got 31.4/31.4/32.4/31.4
Considering th resistance increasses while getting hot....and the given range of 28 to 33.....it seems like the 3rd coil passing the range by 1 ohm...causing it to no sending curent and opening the valve when the IAC is getting hot....ressson why after a test drive of about 2 miles it did shut down again.
So...I got the IAC on order....the stealth. my only car is my daily driver..and I need it fixed ASAP
I wander if coolant is a problem......the engine cooland circuit works right..keeping the engine temp just below the 1/2 mark....maybe could it be obstructed at the IAC section..somehow..and getting it too hot...?
O well....

RE: Starting but is not ideling.
just so you guys know, once in a great while mine will have trouble ideling, i just take the air filter boot guy off, and take some carb cleaner and clean out the intake, works like a charm and is under a buck for the fix. ( so far over 4 years, i've had to do it about 3 times, from carbon build up)
