I thought the term Restrictor plate related to carborators or throttle bodies. In nascar every car runs the same restrictor plate so that they all have the same amount of air comming into the engine..just so that pople don't get the edge with big ones.

Not installed on normal production cars. Production vehicles are usually limited by ECU programing to cut fuel or spark at certain speeds.[:@]
