Default newbie with a turbo build

Hey im new to the forum. I know a bit about cars but im not a pro, im a computer tech so if you have any questions about computers go ahead and ask.

I dont have a dodge but I have a few questions about the dodge stealth it uses the same basic engine as my plymouth acclaim the 3.0L sohc Im doing a turbo instal on it and I need headers and the intake manifold and throttlebody and a few other parts I was told they should fit but I want to know if this will work before I do it. also im having problems finding the parts.

welcome man. is it the sohc or the dohc? the stealth came with both. if you have a sohc then u need to find and sohc to get ur throttle body and ur headers. but be careful puting a turbo on a non turbo car. u could **** ur motor up pretty bad.

From what I heard about turboing the sohc, you need to get parts for the turbo that are actually made for the sohc, which would be much more rare to find, but I would ask TheStealth about this question.

...and to my knowledge, the only "turbo parts" for an SOHC are custom made. The TT exhaust manifolds off of a DOHC engine will not bolt up to a SOHC.

Yeah I was only told by a friend with a VR4 that all SOHC turbo parts have been custom made. Much cheaper to buy a DOHC engine and turbo that.

Yeah, but it appears he is wanting to turbo an old Plymouth Acclaim. If he had the money and the gumption to swap in a TT engine, he would have a hell of a sleeper.

yeah it would be a hell of a sleeper, but if they are practically the same engine, hes defiently gonna have to get them custom made, or find somebody who may be selling them. Try to goto http://www.3si.org and then goto forums and see if people are selling any sohc turbo kits. They part out cars/parts all the time.
