Default 02 stratus

Hey everyone!
Im new to the forums. Just wanted to put some stuff up.
I have a 2002 Dodge Stratus SE 2.7 Liter 24 Valve DOHC
I'm thinking of putting some upgrades on it but I've never (at least I don't think so) seen a Stratus with upgrades that looks decent. Any ideas for me? Pictures of a similar Stratus would be nice if you can find them.

I have a 2002 Dodge Stratus SE 2.4L myself and I was looking to do some mods but i've never seen any halfway looking decent ones either. Mine is silver w/ black pin stripes. I think i'm going to get mine repainted silver again, loose the pin stripes, paint the door handles gloss black and paint the body moldings black as well. Also i'm putting on a HUGE Dodge Ram logo in the middle of the hood. Finally I bought a pairOEM aftermarket European BLACK headlight housing that i'm going to put in with some HID BULBS, not the entire HID conversion kit, just the bulbs. I also have blue lights running throughout the inside of it. All that stuff I got off eBay, I would love to find some different tail lights but I don't know any good sites.

On the way I have some 18" Konig HOTSWAP black rims coming in that'll be here in about a month.

Aside from that I have my entire trunk Dynamatted with another 40lbs that I have and i'm going to install on a HOT Sunny Day.

I have 4 Kicker 3-way 6x9's, Kicker 350.4 4 Channel AMP, 2 Kicker 12" CVR's, Kicker 750.1 MONO AMP, 6.5" Pioneer AVH-P4900DVD Head Unit, Yellow Optima Deep Cycle Battery, 1200 Watt Tsunami Power Kit, 5 Farad Tsunami Capacitor and 2 Kicker 1.5" Components. I have the inside all decked out....now to work on the outside but obviously I need a little help getting the parts and everything.

Also, while this may be a little off topic, mine stops accelerating at around 115mph......my speedometer goes to 120mph. I'm sure it can go faster....anyone know how to make it acheive what its capable of doing? Yes, everything under the hood is stock.

Yes you can put a hitch on your car and tow. I think our cars are only rated to tow 1,000 lbs. If you have an auto, install a transmission cooler.

Actually your are limited to less than that (Dodge gauges are known to be off). 112 mph is your top speed and it is controlled by your computer. Your cars top speed limit is set because of the tires they put on your car from the factory. The stock tires are only rated to 118 mph. After that they can be come very dangerous to drive. Higher performance tires of course are more stable at higher speeds. There is nothing you can do to increase your top speed with out getting an after market computer (don't know if they have any). And really your engine does not have much more after those speeds.

hey Aussie, welcome. i too have an 02 2.7 SE (no t-belt, it has a chain :-). i'm in the army and just came back from germany (AUTOBAHN).unless you change the speed limiter, the only thing you can do is make the car accell faster. mine topped out at 115, 4th gear :-( this was at 4K, IT STILL HAD 2K TO GO BEFORE REDLINE!!!).

just looking at the tach i'm guessing the top "redline" speed would be about 150-160 mph. the motor would still pull real strong untill it hit the cut-off. it's the wifes car, so i can't do anything with it unless it makes it go just like she drove it off the lot (SHE isthe 1st owner).

my 2 cents

Thanks everyone. I have been searching the web and it seems hard to find some parts for a Stratus. I just got my license but I've driven before. I am a speed nut, for my age at least. Thank god I didn't get caught without my license. Anyway, I am thinking of just getting some exterior stuff down to make it look fresh. Some rims, paint, window tint. After that or before, still debating, I will go to the performance part but with the stock engine, the Stratus runs fine so again, I'm still debating.
LATER.

are you asking about your engine or the replacement engine, yours should have one on drivers side of engine ,try going to an auto parts sight like autozone orhttp://www.factorychryslerparts.com/...category=20308 diagram will show you what to look for
