Need help once more
I HAVE A 97 DODGE STRATUS 2.4L AND MY CAR IS LEAKING OIL SO I HAVE REASON TO BE ITS MY VALVE COVER GASKET AND I WANT TO NO WOULD THAT BE A VERY HARD JOB TO DO AND IF SO HOW MUCH DO YOU THINK THE SHOP WOULD CHARGE FOR THAT
I wouldn't think it's hard at all I just did mine last month. All you have to do take the valve cover off, take out the old gasket, might as well as replace the plug gaskets as well, make sure you get all of the old gasket out, I would also inspect the valve cover to make sure nothing is bent, than put the new one in, and torque it down. Not sure how much a shop would charge for something like this.

2.4l VC gaskets are very easy. IIRC, all you need is a 10mm socket (possibly 13mm too). Just unplug the coil pack, remove the plug wires from their holes and unbolt the coil pack, then unbolt the VC and remove it. Replace the gasket and spark plug tube seals, lightly coat them with grease or vaseline (helps seal pinholes and prevent seepage)and put the cover back on. If you dont have a torque wrench, just run the bolts down andturn each of them in 1/4 turn at a timeuntil they feel seated and then give them another 1/8-1/4 turn(Spec is 40, then 80 then 105 inch pounds). Replace the coil pack and reconnect it, put the plug wires back and you're done.
