I have a 2001 dodge stratus with a 2.4 liter. The motor went out and I replaced it with a 2003 2.4 salvage yard motor. The problem I'm have is I'm only getting firing from the # 1 and 4 cylinders. # 3 & 2 are not firing. Needing answers on where and what I may need to do to solve this problem. I have compression, gas, but no spark from plup wires 2 and 3.

If the check engine light is not on or you can't diagnose the car for codes, then start out simple. Spark plugs, wires, and the ignition module. Does this happen often, sometimes, or all the time? Try the plugs first. If that does not work, then read on. If it is sometimes, then I would try the wires first, they could be worn out and/or loose and not getting a good connection with the plug and/or module. If it is constant with a bad smell, its the module.

This was the case on one of my cars a few months back.

 

So far The answer Is It can not be done. I have A 2001 Dodge Stratus With the 2.7. I know that It Is not recommended to try to put anything else In! The car has only 84000 Miles on it and I would say that It has set most of it's Life. I have heard A lot of Horror Stories about the 2.7 and I don't have A problem rebuilding It. My question Is like many others. Can I put something else In It? Is it possible to put the 05 Motor In the 01 Car since Dodge did make some Improvements on the Engine as the Years went on. Or can I do A transplant with the 3.0 Wiring Harness ECM so on so fourth. I was A Automotive Tech for quite A few Years but had to get out of It due to A chronic back Issue So I am behind on My Technology I would be doing it Myself to say the least. Also will the 2.7 trans work with the 3.0 motor? I would doubt it but just another question. I would appreciate any Information about this Car and the possibilities or lack there of. What can I do to make the 2.7 better! Any Information would be valued If It Is not complete sarcasm! HA HA Thank You For Your Time.

I have a 99 stratus es showing codes p0700, p0740, it is sluggish shifting to drive from park or wont shift at all and will be in neutral, then I turn off and on and it shifts normal. the car runs good other than the shifting problem and fluid and filter have been changed

 

2.7 motors aren't even worth replacing. JUNK JUNK JUNK>

 

I have a 1999 dodge stratus and it was working good yesterday. I got up this morning to go to class and it would not crank the dashbord lite wont even come on i got my battery charged and a new starter and still nothing someone said that it could the anti thief system can someone please help me
