On my 2004 stratus sxt with 80,000 miles, the check engine light is on but a code reader is not finding any codes or any codes pending and cannot turn the the light off with the code reader. The car appears to be running just fine. What does this mean?

You may need to have a scanner to ck the code. A code reader can only do so much. Have you try cycling the key three times and watch the dash for P codes.
