Default Check Engine Codes / Won't Start

My 96 Stratus all of a sudden won't start. Has cranking power. Checked for spark at what I believe is the coil pack, its white and doesn't seem to be real strong. Code is a 12.
Any ideas?
Thanks

Welcome to DF
If you have a 2.4L engine, i would ck the crank sensor and the cam sensor. Unless you have a broken timing belt.

Is there an easy way to test all these. Can you use an ohm meter on the sensors. How do you know for sure about timing belt?

How does anyone know anything forsure? It's all best guess without having sufficient information to make a more educated guess. No spark could be a back crank sensor, no fuel injection could be a bad cam sensor. Could be a broken timing belt, could be a PCM problem, could be a bad wire, maybe the igntion switch is causing problems. There's literally a dozen plus things it could be. IDK about using an ohm meter to find a bad sensor. I fixed my neighbor's Taurus. No start, no spark, Crank sensor Ohm'd ok, but still no start. Took a chance on a new sensor and it runs perfect.

Hey thanks for all the explanation, Didn't know all that. Got it running today, and it's one of those, don't really know why. Kid put in plugs just because, no start, we started unplugging and repluggin things, opened gas line, saw timing belt moving, pumped the crap out of it, noting, then just floored gas pedal. The ol baby started, smoking crzy, kept it going for about 20 min. put some heat in the gas tank. All smoothed out, been startin all afternoon. If it starts tomorrow I'm guessing moisture in the gas line.
