Default Car stuttering, new head-gasket?

I have a 2003 Stratus Coupe SXT w/ the 4g64 2.4l SOHC.
The car developed what I call a stutter to the engine. It is a plague to performance and gas mileage. I replaced the spark plugs and it seemed to solve the problem. When I changed them I noticed some traces of oil in cylinders #1 & 3 (starting from the passenger side).
After about 2000 miles the stutter slowly began to develop again.
I took it to a local mechanic who changed the ignition coils and spark plug wires. This also worked, but temporarily. Now changing the spark plugs does nothing to help the stutter and the oil in the cylinders seems somewhat worse. It's not only on the spark plug, but around where the spark plug boot seals.
Has this ever happened to anybody else? Any help would be great.
I can even post pictures of the oil or anything else if it will help?
Thank you.

Welcome to DF
The valve cover is leaking down the spark plug holes and maybe causing you misfire problem.

I'm not sure why I didn't think of this, but after reading this and going and looking at my valve-cover I believe the gasket is in fact leaking in several places. Thank you guys, I'll replace it and let you know how it turns out.

On a side note. Any idea why the spark plugs are installed in the middle of the valve cover? Is it a hemi-type design?

Ha, no, its Japanese. You own a Mitsubishi, no MOPAR. Pull the coil packs off first, then remove spark plug wires. Take a picture first so you remember how it all goes.
Fel-pro is fine as far as the gasket goes
