Dealerships will do anything for $$$, thats all they care about
(Dad works at one)
I detailed there for a while, they would only give me 20 out of 110 for a full detail.
I work at a private shop now and get HALF of whatever they charge.

i worked for a school run detail shop in college...we spent all of our time dicking around or detailing the chancellors caddys...

on a side note, alpine, you should get some pics of your car all shined up and put them in the gallery!

rob, maybe just try calling a few different dealerships and see if they will out price each other.

So true about the dicking around part.......
We had a golf cart to mess with at the dealership.....
cadilac emblems, cb radio, stereo, it had it all lol.
The shop im working at now gets a lot more work that the dealership,
they tint as well, so thats where we get a lot of the traffic.

As for the pics, my camera's not the best, but i will see what I can do

Are you talking the coupe?
Is the 04 that different than the 02? (If so, That bites!)
The 02 is owner programable!

You can reference the procedure in the 2002 Factory Service Manual Volume 1, Section 8P-9

The 2002 R/T Coupe can learn up to 4 transmitters.
You cannot “ADD” a transmitter one at a time. You must register ALL your transmitter, new and old at the same time.

THE CHRYSLER VERSION:

1.) Check the doors lock normally when the key is used

2.) Insert the ignition key (NOTE: to prevent damage, always turn the ignition switch to "LOCK” (OFF) position.

3.) Ground terminal 1 of the data link connector (image shows this as a two row, 16 pin connector located directly under the steering column. The wide side is pins1-8, with 1 being to the right.)
(Wish I knew how to include the image here, but I don’t sorry.)

4.) Press the hazard switch six times within 10 seconds. (Note: at this time the code registration monitor request is output [all doors locked and unlocked] and becomes registration mode.) (NOTE: The hazard warning light switch is turned on and off alternately whenever pushed.)

5.) Press the transmitter switch, and then press it two times within 10 seconds of the first press. This will register the code.

6.) When the registration is complete, the code registration monitor request is output(all doors locked and unlocked).

7.) If you are using two or more transmitters, or have added a second transmitter, the same registration procedure should be carried out within one minute after registering the first transmitter. After the second registration is completed, the code registration monitor request is output(all doors locked and unlocked).

8.) Registration mode will be canceled under any of the following conditions
8a.) when the secret code of the transmitter has been registered
8b.) when one minute has been passed after registration mode.
8c.) When the ground wire to pin one is removed
8d) When the key is removed from the ignition.

9.) After registration is completed, carry out the following work, and then check that the keyless entry system operates normally.
9a.) Remove the ignition key
9b.) Close all the doors

THE SIMPLIFIED VERSION?

I think the simplified method is more like this, but don’t hold me to it until someone tries it, cause I haven’t!)

1.) Insert key in ignition, set to “Off” or “Lock”
2.) Ground pin 1 on the Datalink connection
3.)press the hazard switch 6 times within 10 seconds
4.) press the transmitter button 3 times within 10 seconds
(System will respond by locking and unlocking doors as acknowledgment)

Here is where it gets muddled for me, as I don’t think you need to repeat step 3, but instead simply do step 4… I may be interpreting it wrong.

5.) Repeat step 4 for all additional transmitters, within 1 minute of last attempt.

6.) When done, simply remove ground from datalink connector

Peace
Vince
