My grrandson's car just shut down while driving. We had a tune up done and they replaced the cam sensor. It seemed fine but has done it yet again and the mechanic says nothing is showing up on the computer. Could it be the idle air controll valve?

Do you know what size engine your grandson car has? And when the car does shut down, does the check engine light come on?

Can you get the code read at a local autoparts store? Or have somebody with a handheld scanner? Knowing that code will tell us a LOT about what's going on under the hood.

 

No I don't. They have replaced the cam sensor and the crank sensor. We're holding our breath at this point.
