soo I tried having the fan the entire time until it warms up and it still did the same thing.. it took about 20 minutes to reach normal temperature.and it started to boil again..

Check to see if air is getting through the radiator. Don't know if it's applicable but when we used to ride ATV's the radiator fins would get clogged with mud. Maybe something other than mud in your case but it sounds like no air is getting through. Could be bugs...grass....anything. I would definitely check it really good.

What is the normal operating temperature on the 2.7? What temperature is the thermostat supposed to open at?

And whatever the stock temperature number is, can it be replaced with one in the 180-195 degree range?

Not sure about stock but180 should be ok.

My engine was overheating a little and the coolant was boiling too. It came out to be that my coolant reservoir is leaking and it doesn't hold the presure needed. I have dodge stratus sxt 2004 2.7L.

bleed the coolant i took mine in for mechanic to do it after replacing the bleed housing unit with sensor. i was watching the guy he had pressurized coolant tank too probabbly had tooo pressureisze mine to to get flowing nicely. it runnning greaT NOW MINE 2.7 MAGNUM.
