lifter noise

How many miles ?
First thing I'd do is an oil flush , This can clean out sludge in the passage ways/heads/ around the oil pump pickups ect causing low pressure to the heads causing the noise.
Put any of the commercial oil flushes in the crankcase let run per the instructions
Then drain , I like to but in some cheap bulk oil and another filter then let run for 50 miles or so to collect the debris knocked loose. Then do a regular oil change

Its your hydraulic lash adjusters. I have done this to mine only to have it come back. The link doesnt show your exact engine, but the lash adjusters and locations are most likely identical.

You can do this or run various chemicals through the crankcase, the noise will just come back, but much sooner than if you are to take out the tappets and clean them thoroughly. http://www.4x4wire.com/mitsubishi/te.../lifter_noise/

Marvel Mystery Oil works the same as the diesel, and is easier to obtain with its own container.
