what is the difference between the tps sensor and an iac sensor?a mechanic "fixed"the i.a.c. sensor and now my rpm still goes past 3 without accelerating.he said I might need to change the t.p.s. sensor if it continues to idle high.just trying to figure out why he wouldn't just fix the t.p.s. instead of the I.A.C. sensor and resetting the system.it's only been 4 days.

basically the iac tells the computer how much air to let in when the cars idling , the tps tell the computer how hard your stepping on gas. either one could cause high idle are you getting a check engine light? did he check for a vacuum leak a lot of times valves get replaced when its a vacuum leak

Thank you.My engine light is on and on the receipt he wrote that he put a new I.A.C. sensor and adjusted the system and replaced hoses.however,he noted that the T.P.S and MAP sensor may need to be replaced. It's frustrating to know that after 4 days,I may have to spend more money. Thanks for your help.

no,the engine light wasn't on before.I was told it was the TPS sensor.I have a new issue now,,,the battery,so I'm getting it towed to a shop, unfortunately my battery is located under the bumper and don't know if it's a side post or top post, apparently a stratus is designed where some are top post and side post. It's not staying charged long enough to drive it.
