Unhappy Please help...getting frustrated

We have a 2001 Stratus with just under 200,000 miles on it. All the things that have been done since we've owned this vehicle in only a year and this car is a piece of crap and we have already spent over $3000 on repairs and we only paid 2000 for it!! We have too much into it to just scrap it and we don't have money to get another car so we need this one running!!
When we first got it, it died on us and we thought it was the starter and it ended up just being the starter relay...easy fix.
Then after a few months, it wasn't starting again and we checked the obvious things and couldn't figure it out so towed it to the car place in our town and they thought it was a fuel pump issue, so we replaced that...it wasn't it! So then they started looking into it and it ended up being the timing was off and so they fixed the timing and replaced the water pump.
Then it was driving fine for at least a month then we only had it set for a few days then we couldn't get it to start again.
We replaced the crankshaft sensor and it didn't remedy the issue. We took out the camshaft and it didn't run after that being taken out, but we didn't replace that one. (we were told that if the sensor is out and it runs, that it would be that sensor that was bad so that's why we only replaced the crankshaft first) Not sure If it would be the cam?
We checked the fuses and relays and there is gas getting to the engine but it seems like there is a fuel issue still. It cranks but doesn't start. Please, someone help me and give me ideas cause I really don't want to have to tow it once again to the car place and shell more money out for labor cost if it's something we can fix. Thank you in advance!!

Ok.. Outline exactly what the problem is currently and whats been done. I cant follow a text post like that personally. As for your mechanic.. Get a new one. Stop just throwing parts at the car!

I did outline all that we have done to it and what is wrong is it's not starting again. I described what I could the best I could. I'm sorry if it's hard to read but I don't know how else to make it easier.

The mechanic we took it to the first time was for the fuel pump and it sat there for 2 months cause they "didn't have time to figure it out" and when we took it to the next one, he was able to diagnose it within a few days and had it fixed in less than 2 weeks, so he does an awesome job!

He's not just charging us for stuff that isn't needed. Obviously, he got it going when the other mechanic couldn't.

Ok so far you have.
-Replaced starter relay
-Replaced fuel pump
-Fixed timing (im guessing new timing chain?)
-Water pump
-Replaced crankshaft sensor

So you believe there is gas getting to the engine but not igniting. When you say it does not start what do you mean? Does it turn over and not start? Spark plugs are in working condition? Wiring to the plugs work?

*Side note, im not that great at diagnosing issues here, other are much much better than I am, but since no one else has answered.. I thought i would try to help out as much as I can till someone else jumps in.

The battery is working correct? Lights come on inside the car? (the engine would also not turn over if the battery was dead or not connecting)

what engine and is it a coupe(uses mitsubishi engine) or sedan totally different vehicles, have you had battery checked ,have you tried swapping the ASD relay, its possible cam sensor could be bad ,think some vehicles might run without the sensor but most use info from both , sometimes a bad crank will show as bad cam sensor and a cam sensor show as a bad crank sensor ,were there any engine codes when vehicle ran,one thing you might try is unhooking battery for awhile and rehooking see if starts

I forgot to mention, yes, the battery is brand new! We had an issue right after the timing and water pump was fixed where it didnt start and the battery was just bad.
It is an ES and it will crank but not start.

The only code that we got was the one for the battery being disconnected and the one for the crankshaft after we took it out. I read on here somewhere that 95% of the time, the codes don't show for the cam and crank??

I will check the battery corrections but i would of thought that would of been checked when they put the new battery in a few months ago.
I thought we Checked the asd relay but we can check again to make sure. We're getting to the point we will just have to get it towed to the shop again if those things don't help. thanks for the help so far!!

They may have or may not. Just wanted to check the simple things. What about the plugs and wires?

May want to try jumping it with another car.. If that works then we have narrowed down the issue a lot.
