I need some help I'm stuck I can't get my CV axle to go all the way back in what am I doing wrong

This is as far as I can get my CV axle in what am I doing wrong, aftermarket duralast Gold 2005 Dodge Stratus SXT coupe 2.4 engine

 

Check to make sure the o-ring from the other axle is not stuck inside. That happened to me once. Just a suggestion.

 

There is a metal clip on the axle, that helps retain the joint on the axle. You might be able to get the axle as straight as possible, compress it as much as you can, then rap on the end with a mallet of some sort (careful not to damage the threads), to get it to seat properly.
