This here is just a stab in the dark but my first two impressions are double check your grounding and then they use to have what i believe are called noise modulators that you can install that will filter that out. Someone correct me if I am wrong...i can't remember the exact label for it...but they used to have problems with engine whine and crackles over the speakers and this would stop it...hope it helps!

i wire competition systems all the time and i have heard one like ur saying and when we checked the wiring it was spliced and touching the other wire cause it to crackle and fade really bad. does it fade in and out or stop for a sec or is it a constent noise, i would say check the wiring or just spend like 10$ and rewire the car, not hard at all. and im not sure about engine whine and crackles over speaker thing i dont know.

Just another thought to try , the spark plugs are resistor type ,.but if youre is like mine they may have Champion plugs in it, and they are the worst plugs known to man. They can allow interferance to leak passed and cause the noise, since it only happens when the car is cranked. Also the plug wires can effecting it as well, so if the above doesnt work , give that a try !

I use nothing but Champion and have never had a problem. I have tried other brands and types with no noticeable difference. Usually any ignition related interference is due to poorly insulated wires(I use Accel 300+ Race Wires, Accel Super Stock Wires and MSD Super Conductor Wires, the MSD have the least resistance so they provide the best spark energy and they all have great RFI suppression). I use cheapy Champions in my Roadrunner and my Shelby Z and the platinums in my R/T and they all run great, heck my Shelby Z had the original cap, rotor ,wires(Mopar dated 9/87 and it's an '88) and plugs(Champion) all with 145,000+ miles when I bought it and it ran perfect. The only plugs I found worthless were the Splitfires, they were no better than any other plugs and cost 5 times as much.

And yes , a match , or a flamethrower will light a stick of dynamite, so who need 100 sparks PerSI when the the first spark done the DEW

No biggie, I've just never had any problems with 'em thats all. Luckily enough I've never had a problem, except the price of some, with any brand I've used.
