Default 2001 Dodge stratus se coupe

I recently bought two keyless entry remotes. The remotes lock and unlock, but there's no chirp! The car horn works, and I had the remotes programmed at the dealer, but they could not get the chirp to work! Therefore, they told me to make an appointment to get the car checked!
I already read the manual and instructions that came with the remotes!

Can somebody help me because I do not want to pay for something that might not be necessary!

P.S. could it be the computer or codes?

Please someone help!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Thanks

OK, I guess I missunderstood your original question? Let me start over.
As I understand it you:
1.) Bought 2 keyless remotes. (rectangular in shape?)
2.) You took the remotes to the dealer, and had them programed to your car.
3.) The programing worked, as in the door and trunk release all operate with your new remotes.

My understanding is the "Chirp" your are looking for, is the momentary beep of the horn when you lock the car with the remote? (refered to as "Horn Answerback" on my Stratus page.)

Am I on or off track?

If you have had the remotes programed, and they work, then the codes for the remotes have been excepted by your cars computer and they should be just fine. If the answerback still does not work even after following the procedures on my site, then there is also another way (according to the manual) to toggle the horn chirp on and off. This requires a bit more work (grounding out a connector under the dash, and holding windshield washer a set number of seconds.) If you want, I can provide that procedure as well, but the one I list should have done th trick.

Help me make sure we are talking apples and apples here. I'll try to help you save a few bucks if I can.

Vince

(I did update my programming page to hopefully help clairify some steps, and I also verified the horn answerback step work on my car. -V)

I remember reading somewhere that you can turn the hunk off of on, but don't remember how.

Sorry Marcy,

I misplaced my owners manual, and haven’t been able to locate it in some time. My information comes from the factory shop manuals for my 2002 coupe.
To add to that apology, I went back to my manual for that page-long process, only to discover it is ONLY for the hazard light answerback, and makes no mention of the horn. So it looks like my posted procedure on my site is your only option outside the dealership.
Give it another try, this time sit in the car, close the door, and turn the ignition on (don’t start the car, just let it register your key).... Then remove the key ant follow the step I wrote up. If it works that way, then I will modify my page with the insert key part.

Best of luck, and again I appologize.
Vince

B_52: Thanks for the info regarding the 'Horn Answerback' posted on your website; My days of having to look at my headlights - waiting for these to flash - after looking the car, are now over.

Peace,
