Default PT cruiser 2.4L turbo engine swap

I have a 1996 Dodge stratus 2.4L engine and i just blew the engine and looking to replace with the 2.4 L turbo from a pt cruiser. I found one on ebay for 2800 that includes the tranny, new computer, new engine, and new wiring harnesses with 25,000 miles on it. It seems like a great buy but im not exactly sure it will fit. By the looks of the engine i think it will def. fit but i wanna make complete sure before i go and waste 2800 dollars. Any help would be great thanks.

I would go ask a local performance shop. They may not have the exact answer but they will definetly be able to help with a solution. I would start there. Thats ofcourse unless someone on here has done it and says it is a sure fit.

ya i went today actually and they said that it will most likely fit but the intake manifold is gonna most likely be to big, and maybe i could find a intake manifold for the srt-4. They said also that my intake might work for it.

Thats very interesting?? Did they mention how much it might cost? That ofcourse without the purchase of the motor.

It should fit,I plan on doing this swap in the near future. It is the EDV. There are a series of 3 2.4 Engines and they are the EDZ-Stratus, EDV- PT, and EDT- SRT-4. The EDZ and EDV use the same transmission, so thats a major plus there! The only problem will be the intake manifold and the motor mounts, but its nothing some fabrication can't handle. Let me know how it goes. Thanks, and I hope this helps.

Yeah most definatly keep me informed! I've been waiting to do this like I mentioned before. Let me know how it goes and all, and how frustrating it was. Also if you can, could you make some notes of things that need to be adjusted to make the engine work, like cutting and what not. Thanks alot!
