yeah i would think the new coupe would be lighter, more aerodynamic, better weight balance, and more power, so hopefully thats enough to just blow the fart gt away

 

that link is wroung the GT has 550hp and the new 2007 cobra(aka shelby gt 500) will be running the GT motor. the 0-60 time on the gt was 3.3 with NO traction problems the editors of fast fords said he couldnt even get the tires to spin. to bad it is a ford.. vipers will always be cooler.. if your that worried put a blower on a viper and just laugh at everyone

 

The Ford GT is being marked up to around $240K. They did go back to the drawing board and cranked up the boost when the Viper and GT were almost even on performance stats on the early reviews. The one Dyno I have heard of showed over 550HP at the wheels which would indicate the Ford GT is probably running 600+ at the crank. The specs on the new Viper Coupe are still at 500hp/3400 lb, so not a GT slayer yet. There is every indication that a program is underway to release a more potent engine (possibly hemi-head based), but hard to know when it will actually come out (if ever).

Well then, that price will put the GT in the category with the Ferraris and Lamborghinis. And if it is true that the Chrysler ME412 is going to go into production, then the GT is dead to the Vipers new big brother.

 

I heard Chrysler pulled the plug on that though. Hopefully not.

I have heard varying things on it, but I never thought they would have even built such a beast let alone even think about actually producing it. I seriously doubt that they will go into production on it, but I have heard of the Hemi powered Viper being a possibility.

I heard that mercedes wont let them build the ME 4-12 because of it beating there super car the slk mclaren.
