If the motor runs to cool it could throw a CEL, and IMO thats on the cusp. Sadly there isn't a way to check your T stat outside the truck but if your collant temp is a steady 175 ish thats not where a 185 stat should keep your coolant.

A 185 stat, especially a "quality" one should open at least within 5 degrees of 185 degrees. With that temp, your coolant should stay in the 185 to 190 range.

Check your reserve tank and make sure there is coolant in there, and I would just drive it for a little while if there is some in there. If the gurgle doesnt go away flush the heater core with a regular garden hose. It took me about 15 minutes to do.

gtup----thats odd about your heat situation. i have the 180 stat and i have no heating problems with it. do you think maybe it could have been sticking in the open position?

i do believe i have a blend door problem though, as the passenger side heat is awesome but the driver side heat is not-so-much, any one have any ideas?

I do think it was my t-stat, but I went ahead a put the OEM spec on back in because I didnt want to go through that mess twice lol.

Nim, it does sound like you have the bent door, I think there is a write up somewhere on how to fix the problem... Let me see if I can find it for you.
