Sounds like I'm going to be replacing the plenum, I had figured that much. How difficult was the job? What did it take? Any suggestions?

VERY simple job IMO. just time consuming. take your time to clean all your parts. and the only special tool you need is a fuel line disconnect.

Count me in, 2001 Ram with a 5.9, we are still learning how to get along with each other.

No prob, our magnum motors just don't respond quite like Chevy's etc they prefer the smaller valved heads unless of course you go radical then go as big as possible.

does anybody know of a diy on replacing the y pipe for these motors?

Okay before I go replacing the plenum any suggestions for aftermarket parts instead of replacing the plenum?

Hughes plenum gasket, dont get the factory one because it will just leak again.

yes get hughes plenum reenforcement kit, and get the hughes intake gaskets W/ new manifold bolts
