5.9L Engine Club
fellow 5.9ers. my oil pan is rusting out and i have all the parts. looks like a job curious if anyone has done there own. i got a replacemnet pan and gasket from autozone the dealer wanted $160 for the pan and $60 for the gasket. is there really a difference from mopar to aftermarket. i would like the mopar but that much for a stamped piece of metal is a bit much. any help appreciated
you will be just fine with the autozone unit and gasket.. its pretty straight foward install just make sure you torque the pan bolts to spec.. from the info i could find its 215in-lbs or about 18 ft-lbs.

I am another 2nd Generation guy ! My truck is a 01 Dodge Ram 2500 4x4 with a stock 5.9L . My truck has 45,000 miles on it and I am just now adding things to improve performance. The first thing I added was a set of Pace Shortie Headers that will bolt up to stock exhaust , but I chose to go to a JBA three inch single exhaust . The truck has noticeable improvement on the top end . Dan the Fastman is sending me his 52mm throttle body to help with the quicker response . When that is on , the next thing I add will be a cold air intake !
