Well the lady said that I was under 6000# so I got the standard passenger plate she said weighted start at 7000# if I would like that, or could go higher.
Needless to say I was a bit confused.
My registration says shipping weight is 5586# is this the tare weight of my truck?
I guess I can't have more that 2 people in my truck LOL

FK I wonder if you're 06 is listed as over 6000 "Shipping weight"...Check it out and let me know.
I'm gonna go out on a limb here and say my Quad cab 4wd 488 is heavier than the average dodge here...Not exactly a light duty version..
(Maybe Meanwhite mopar has me beat with the weight of his suspension/tires..) LOL

Tell them you will take your chances, you will only get ticketed if a trooper decided to weigh your truck! Has anyone ever seen a pick up on the side of the road getting weighed? that is foolish unless it is way overloaded!

 

Yeah I think I'll take my chances with the trooper and his portable scales...

At least I'm saving money on my inspection, it's like $13 V10 is a safety only inspection.

 

What r u guys talking about!?!? I've seen the weighted plates on NC trucks up here in VA but never knew what they mint. Is this actually something that VA doesn't have some dumb law on (stupid Commonwealth )!?!?

 

the county I live in has not adopted the emissions testing yet! so my inspection is safety only, 10.95!!

 

wow u guys hav emissions testing, thats bull im so glad i aint got that crap here, but inspections are bull here i failed cause my brush guard used to have the bars that went around my lights and had the bars that went in front of the lights

 

That is pretty stupid!! failed you for a modified aftermarket part that is not even required by law?? I guess when you only pay your workers minimum wage that is what you are gonna get!!

 

So what did they write on the inspection slip about why you failed?

 

they never gave me a slip, i have the tool box for a reason lol it has tools in it, so i made them let me take it them off in the parking lot and pull it back in, in VA its illegal to have anything blocking the front or back lights like covers or anything, even tho the light just goes around hte bars on the brush guard, when i was taking them off i was just taking the inside bars out and broke one so i just ripped em off so it looked like urs sheriff, didnt matter cause that top bar was broken so it looked weird and i just took the light guards off entirely, it looked like a cop car lol this was when i had my stock rims so when ever someone would see my truck they would scramble to put their seatbelt on lol
