i have a 2000 dodge dakota wanting to do a v8 swap what engines can i use and will i need the harness out of a v8 to fit mine

also what year motor's would be the best to choose i can get a 318 from a 1995 grand cherokee with the computer but want to make sure it will fit first

 

Why not get a harness for the same motor? From a dakota V8 and PCM.
