1997 Ram Wagon 3500 a/c ?
Just picked up, new long block. Mechanic who put in engine said air worked good before.
Said they didn't dissconnect just laid to the side? Replaced blower resistor pack thanks to this site. Fan only worked high. Fixed that. But still no air. Jumping low end switch will engage compressor.Try to charge but soon as I pull the trigger it reads in red on gauge. Tried jumping and charging and seems to hold pressure but if I just hook up gauge it reads low?? Any ideas? Thanks

You havea Ram vam, Not a Ram truck???? If its a Ram van, the only to remove the engine is thru the front. That means the radiator and A/C condenser needs to come out to remove the engine.I would say the A/C was disconnected unless someone can pull the motor from the inside.
