Default No Electric, Battery OK

My 1500 Ram '04 lost all electric power. I was installing an elec. break, 7-prong receptacle, for a trailer, when I notice that all of the electric to the truck was lost. No horn, light, power, everything. Can not start truck.

I disconnect every wire I installed, but it’s in the same condition.

I ck all fuses, and they all in good condition.

Does any one have a clue what the problem is?

Is there a main fuse or relay, that might of popped?
Or would the on-board computer need resetting?

Can I solve this problem without going to the dealer?

Any help would be greatly appreciated

Thanks

Did you check the main fuse panel under the hood?

there should be a black box under the hood.

I've now cheek the fusable link that goes from the + battery terminal to the starter and thats OK.
The black box in the engine compartment where all the fuses are located I know about. And all the fuses are good. But still no electric to anything. Am I missing anything else. Does any one have a suggestion?

When you were hooking the trailer brake in, did you accidentally go to ground with any of the wires? Did you disconnect the battery before starting the installation?

I don't think I disconnected the battery when I was installing the break wiring. If I touched ground, I really don't know. If I did hit ground with the battery connected, what type of problems do you think could occur?

If you went to ground you had to pop a fuse or link somewhere. Maybe a relay is hung open or something. I can't see it being too serious though.

Have you tried disconnecting the battery, then reconnecting it. Maybe something went stupid with the computer or something and perhaps this will cause it to reset.

You were hooking this into the rear lights I'm guessing, then all of a sudden, no power?

I disconnected the battery for 2 hours, then reconnected it, but no luck.
I'm not positive when I lost power, but I think it was when I was tieing the wire into the wire at the brake padel for the brakes lights on the trucks. This activiates the trailer brakes. Thats how I did my last truck and thats how the instruction say to do it.

The connection I was hooking up was a 7 prong outlet. I had the 4 prong already on the truck. So the connection for the lights was only connecting a 4 prong to a 4 prong. There were 3 additional wires. One for + lead, one for - lead, and one for the brakes.

I've been looking at the shop manual for an 03 Ram, the 04 Manual is at home. I'm trying to find a common feed for all these systems, lights, ignition, etc. but the only thing they have in common is the Integrated Power Module (IPM) which is where all the relays and fuses are at under the hood. I'll continue to look at this.
