Hi everyone , today I tried to start my 5.0 and it would not crank , let alone turn the radio on or electric locks/windows.It has been raining pretty hard the last week so I am assuming this is a short of some kind.I am new to cars and mustangs and would like a suggestion or something if you guys could.Also I had a waterproof car cover on but is there a chance this is electrical problem?

do you have any power? have you checked the battery?

 

i paid $4800 and its a 1992 5.0 in damn good condition with lots of power and racing parts.Very good condition inside and out considering the age.So in other words stfu.And also anyone who wants to "help" me pls do so.It might need a jump or something.It was working fine last week when it was sunny.Since the hard rain it seems like its dead.any help at all thx.

first off junior...if you have no lights, and it wont start...wouldnt you think its a power issue first? the easiest of the power issues to check would obviously be a battery test

second, you dont have to be "savy" to know not to go to a DODGE forum for help on a ford.

third, 4800 for a 12 year old car, with "lots of racing parts"? let me guess.,..under drive pulleys...an AM TB...borla catback, 12" subs, tinted windows, and knockoff cobra wheels.

anyway...call around, find someone who checks batteries for free, and get it checked.

 

ok thx.It might be battery needs charge because i have not drove in a week or so.Unfortunatly for me all my friends with cars and jumpers are at work till tonight.And strat u almost got it right xcept for the tinted windows lol.Ty again.So its not a common problem for 5.0's to die like this?sry for wrong forum also but while were here...

 

im not familair enough with them to know if it is a regular problem with a stang to have power issues. there are some guys on here who own stangs, i guess none of them are on, or they would have come to your defense...

is there an aftermarket radio in it? and how long have you owned it?
