Default Speedo Question

I was wondering if anybody has information on engine RPM vs MPH?

I've a 2001 Dodge Ram Quad cab 4x4, with the 5.9 gas engine. At 60 MPH (with the cruise on & on a flat level road) the engine turns about 1600 RPM. I think the engine speed is about right, but I'm not sure. I just bought it yesterday & the tires are 28575R16's. I'm not sure if the computer has been corrected for these tires.

I was also wondering if anybody has one of the HyperTech PowerTuners for the 2001 Dodge. I really don't want to purchase one if I don't have to, but I would be willing to rent one & pay shipping both ways.

Ok, the sticker in the glove box says 3.55 ratio. I think that's about right, because my 82 GMC has 3.73 gears. No tach with it, cause it's a diesel.

I guess I better explain. I took delivery & was going home & got pulled over by the hiway patrol. Anyway, he said "your tires seem a bit bigger than factory, you might want to make sure your speedo is correct". No ticket or anything, just a heads up by him.

Hence the question.

it also says in the door area not on the door itself but the truck waht size tires ur truck came with from the factory then see waht you have on it

Thanks guys. I tested my speed by following a couple of cars at a steady rate for several miles. I also checked the odometer agains the miles posted along side the road. Seems I'm ok. I might be 1 or 2 mph off, but I think I'm within the LEO allowance for speed.

Now, does anybody have a Hypertech Power programmer they want to rent?

Nice thinking, but that won't work. The programmers are designed to work on only ONE VEHICLE. They do this specifically to prevent the same programmer from being used to "ugrade" multiple vehicles (just as you are requesting). You don't expect them to be dumb enough to sell programmers that could be used to upgrade multiple vehciles...

The hyper tech can be used on more than one vehicle, but your right a lot of Dodge PCMs are no programable at all with anything.
