Yupper, that's it. Your best bet is a complete rebuild.

I just rebuilt a 3000GT ultimate, DOHC twin turbo. The complete rebuilt-including shortblock was about 27,000 just in parts, thoses things are big bucks. I think the bare heads are around 2000/ea. You still need all the valves and valve train. Try to sell it quick, it will cost way more than its worth to fix it, unless it is the twin turbo version, then Id fix it. They sell for around 40K in good shape around here.

as far as the top daollar cars of 40k he is talking modified i am sure a customer of mine is still rebuiling his turbo talon awd and he as at least 5k into it and that not counting the first two rebuilds after he forgot to to put something on
as far as how much money his quote was for a performance engine i am also sure you could try a scrap yard but a low mile one is gonna be hard to find try finding a high millage warranty engine yes some places warranty from a junk yard

best of luck dude

WOAH-slow down. Yes I do know quite a bit, I've been Dodge Gold certified for a decade or so now. Yes I know there is no single turbo available however they are still called twin turbo cars, I am quite familiar with all the different options avail, and also know that that Mitsu built the Stealth, like the FJ(avenger) and colt, and Sebring coupe. Finally, 40K is about right for an Ultimate-that is what Mitsu calls the high end "VR4" with active front spoiler and all the bells and whistles.

Does anybody know if it is a good idea or not to replace the engine in a 92 dodge stealth es with 205,000 miles on it??? I love the car, can't let it go, but this is a big investment
