2 big problems?????????

Default 2 big problems?????????

Hey everybody I got a big problem and no one I know can figure it out. So I figured I would try this board out.

I have a 1985 Dodge Ram D150 with a 318. It has approx 110k on it.
Problem #1 Uses excessive gas I am getting MAYBE 5mpg as well all of the plugs are soaked with gas.

Problem #2 When engine is cold the truck doesnt run right. It dies, has a rough idle when it idles, if you give it gas it falls on its face but once warm it seems to smooth out and run like normal.

Things i have tried had carb rebuilt, the choke is operating like it should, new plugs and wires, distributor cap, and fuel filter.
I havent really tried anything else because no one really has a clue what to do next. Its just my work truck so i dont really want to pay a shop to look at it. So if you got any ideas please let me know.

I know you said you did a carb rebuild, but double check your float level.

my buddy had the same problem diconectted egr valve and that solved it

check the thickness of the carb base gasket. if its to thin the choke comes on to much.
