I have a 2000 4X4 SLT Durango, that only recently crossed the 30,000 mile mark.
I recently rec'd a flyer in the mail from my dealer (OC Dodge) advertising a "major 30,000 mile service" for $234.95. I called to inquire and they told me my vehicle is a 4X4 and the proper service would be more like $750.00!! (which included a lot of things NOT listed in the service manual like cleaning injectors, fuel filter, synth diff fluid etc etc).
What do people pay for 30,000 mile service? What is really required?
My vehicle is out of warranty at this point, so does it matter if I do dealer servicings or not? Can anyone recommend a good independent shop in my area (Orange County California)? Any info much appreciated.
Many thanks!!!!

Automatic tranny should be serviced, rearend lube changed, engine oil and filter, brakes are inspected, belts inspected, PCV, air filter, and possibly the coolant depending on what it has in it.
It can be pretty extensive.[sm=signs003.gif]

I really can't say since I would do the majority of that work myself. I can tell you though that the tranny service is probably in the 200-300 dollar range. I had my 01 Dakota done shortly before I sold it.
You may want to get a more precise estimate from them.
