Default towing with cruise on or off?

so if your towing does it matter if you put your cruise control on or off


and how about overdrive too


will either do any harm if you have them on/off

i don't see why it would be problem at all. OK a truck is towing, it may be more weight, but how it is different then a minivan full of adults. the added weight shouldn't hurt it.

Having the overdrive on all the time while towing will cause the trans to shift excessively which in turn can burn up the trans the same goes for going up steep grades you do not want your vehicle in overdrive when the trans is consistently looking for a gear which will and can cause overheating. As for the cruise control I can see the same thing occur as with the overdrive any small incline will cause your vehicle to loose momentum and then we have the same as with overdrive. It would be better to control the speed with your foot.

it makes sense when you think about it. transmission are expensive too. don't do it

my dad says he "has to use overdrive when on the pike becuase otherwise his RPMs are to high" i asked him how high he said "over 2k"





over 2 doesnt seem that high

Not only the exssive shifting but as my dad allways said...If its in the owner Manual not to do it then dont.....By the way its also on the drivers visor....
