it just sounds like the fuel filter is clogged. they are ususaly easy to replace, I'm unsure of where it is, on the frame maybe, just follow the fuel lines comeing out of the tank and you'll see it when you hit a canister that is inline with the fuel lines.
I'm pretty sure someone who has done one of these will chime in for ya. if it was the fuel pump I doubt the thing would start at all.

If the 95 year models are the same as 96, the pump, filter, and pressure regulator are built into the "fuel pump module" and have to be replaced as an assembly. Personaly I'd rather drop the tank than take the bed off, but I guess it might depend on if your doing it on the ground or raised in the air.

I forgot to mention that if you decide to go the dropping the tank route, a standard deepwell socket will not work, as the bolt or stud is very long. Snap-on makes an extra-deep socket that is available in that size in 1/2" drive. I just happened to be needing it recently, and I believe the size you need for that is a 9/16-At least it is on the '95 fullsize van....

15mm extra deep well socket . Have you put a fuel pressure guage on it to verify pressure loss? I'd also look for contaminated fuel as well as a collection of crud in the fuel rail as both of these can cause the symptoms you described without flagging a code.
