the issue isnt how low you can safely go, you just have to make sure that the tire you buy has a load range strong enough for your truck. however, i have 205-40zr-17 on my stratus, and i am actually a bit over the max weight listed for the tire i have, and ive had no problem. any tire store should be able to tell you the max weight for whatever tire you want to get.

i got ya...figure out what tire you want, and check with the brand, depending on the width of the rim. for instance, my yokohamas, 205-40-17 require at least a 6 inch rim im now going to a 225-45-17, and ive seen some that require a 7 inch, and some require a 6.5 inch. depends on brand. if you know of a certain tire, let me know, and ill look in a book at work.
