Check Engine Light...

Check Engine Light...
Ok people I need your help. I just recently bought a 96 Avenger and the check engine light was on. I had it scanned and it came up with the "AIT Sensor 1 High Voltage Input". I changed the AIT Sensor, MAP Sensor, and Air Charge Sensor. The code was cleared from the ECU but the light came back on. After rescanning it comes up the same. The only thing that I can come up with is that the ECU is bad. SOMEONE PLEASE HELP ME

RE: Check Engine Light...
Ill try to help with what I know.
Air incoming temperature sensor detects incoming air just past the air filter and adjust fuel injection and timing accordingly. If the voltage is high, it could be due to high heat (unlikely if the check engine light comes on immediately) or there is alot of rumors that changing the reading of this sensor can increase horsepower by tricking the ECU into thinking the air is colder than it is. One of the simplest ways it to install a resistor or potentiometer inline with the sensor.
You might look for something taped up like a modification had been done or some kind of "dial" installed in the interior that you dont know where it goes.
I hope this helps, its not recommended to do this modification as it increases fuel and changes timing and you can have a rich mixter with no power increase. If this happens to be the case I would disconnect the mod.
