I got in my 2000 Intrepid yesterday and the radio is dead, no lights, no sound, no nothing. I am going out of town tomorrow and I NEED my radidio, any ideas?
ive got a 2001 ram. I have 2 fuses that go to my radio. 1 is labeled for radio and the other is labeled power amp. check to see if you've got that one also
If it's not the fuses, then it could be a number of things. Bad radio, wiring disconnected... Since you bought the car used, there's no telling what the previous owner may have done. You might just have to pull out the radio and check all the wiring, and the radio itself.
My 96 Ram has the premium sound package and has amps built into the speakers (1 power amp in each speaker). To let the radio control the amps, there is one ground out of the radio that powers a "choke relay". This in turn turns on all the individual amps. My 97 intrepid also a premium sound package but it uses on AMP in the trunk. Do you have the premium Infinity package? If so, your amp could be bad or if it’s like my truck, it could be a relay. Of course this is on top of what SeXyinTrepid said. Just some more ideas for you.
