yeah...as long as you arent flooring it through your downshifts...the driveshafts should hold up...dont worry about the trans, your fine as long as you arent overly harsh on it

If I had an autostick it would be used all the time, for an auto they're kinda fun. I used one in a 300M, it was pretty lively.

i dropped a trans using autostick. it was an 2004 pacifica. i had a natural courosity to find otu how high in each gear ti would go. so i just redlined it in almost everygear until i shredded the teeth off the gears. at least tahst what the mechanic said when he put a new one in.

He lied to you. First of all, I wonder what teeth you supposedly sheared off, I can't think of any teeth to shear. 2nd, the Pacifica doesn't have an engine option that makes enough power to hurt a 42LE. 3rd, using the autostick is no worse for the trans hard parts than just putting your foot to the floor and letting it upshift on it's own. Go tell your mechanic to quit bull$h!t!ng you about what broke and how it broke.

Whoa dude! Nickoman01, I don't think dodgemech was giving you a hard time, but was saying that the tech working on your car is a tool.
dodgemech does raise some good points and he is an experienced DC service tech. When you get your car you might want to question the tech making the repairs again.
