Why not? Why won't a Duramax last as long as a Cummins? Why shouldn't aluminum be part of a deisel? Why would you buy a 1-ton deisel truck for speed?

It spontaneously combusts in the chamber from the heat of the compressed air that it's injected into. And last I checked, aluminum doesn't stand up to heat or pressure as well as cast & forged iron do.

After I left the dealer, I went to the wheel and tire shop that was just down the street, and they ordered me a new wheel.
Anyways, I wouldn't get a Duramax anyway... it's a Chevy.

The Cummins may not perfom as well unloaded as the Duramax and Powerstroke, but when they are loaded up (which is what diesels are supposed to be for) they leave the Ford and Chevy behind.
If this effects your dads opinion any, tell him the Duramax is built by Japanese
