Hi all... New here... as for the aeroturbine muffler... my friend and I have just put one on his Gmc 1500... it sounds like the old thrush glasspacks but a little less harsh, but thats on the 327ci... same with the new Flowmaster hushpower they're a little louder. I recently purchased one of those and was not fond of it, I put my flow 40 series back on. later

The link should be working now.

They seem to be concerned that is was going to be loud. They also offer resonators that "match" their mufflers. [sm=smiley24.gif]

I did send this email to them to see how serious they are about thier claims. So far I haven't heard back and I'm doubtful that I will.

Hello. I’m emailing you concerning the muffler you offer. I have to admit that I like the looks of it, but I’m skeptical on how well it works. I have no intentions of being insulting to you about your product or the claims you make.

Do you offer a money-back guarantee on the mufflers for the claims you make?

The reason I ask is that there are companies that make claims that they can’t back-up. If your product is everything you say it, you shouldn’t have a problem backing it in this way. $200 for a muffler is pretty hefty. If it works though, it’s worth the money.

I have done a baseline dyno run on my truck, 2004 Dodge Ram 5.7L, a few months back. The truck has only a drop-in air filter and synthetic oil for that test. I also have kept a running spreadsheet for my gas mileage.

I would be interested in your muffler if you will return my money if it doesn’t meet your claims within a certain back-up percentage. If your claims are credible, I’d be willing to share with you the results of what I have found. I’m looking forward to your reply. Thanks for your time.

Heard back on these mufflers. As expected, they don't back the product for performance. Here was the reply.

No Todd we do not offer money back for our claims because they were done on a chassis dyno so they are not completely accurate. Yet we do have lifetime warranty against any defect in the product. And it will never rust out. If you have any further questions please call 1-877-266-5356

In my opinion this is a lame response since I already have a baseline for my truck. I would do the testing on the same dyno, not theirs, so all it had to do was show an improvement in power and mileage like they claim. This is just the type of BS companies these days are running by making claims that they aren't willing to back-up.

I realize that there is variation from one dyno to the next, but an improvement is an improvement.

In other words, your satisfaction isn't gauranteed. It's give me your money and go away. At $200 they can keep their aeroturbine muffler.

It's just another attempt at a design that doesn't work. They tried this on the intake side with the Tornado and then the throttle body spacers that has a thread-like pattern on the inside, both of which don't help anything is most every case. Now someone figured they would try it on the exhaust side with these mufflers and it will be equally as over rated and unimpressive.[sm=smiley21.gif]

Exactly. And the email hints at that. It is upsetting that these companies don't have enough intergrity to be truthful about the products they sell.
$200 for a muffler. GEEZ.[sm=smiley21.gif]

A freind that works a the local Midas shop, who called me originally about these mufflers, put this muffler on his car, an 85 turbo k-car, and even at idle this muffler is loud. If your considering this muffler, save your money and get a glass pack. It's does the same job, just for $175 less.

That is another concern all together, turbocharged cars/trucks. The turbos turbine spins in one direction spiraling the exhaust to begin with, if the mufflers spiral contradicts the direction in which the turbo spins it, it could actually hurt the performance and create a power loss instead of a gain. This is also of concern on the intake side with these junk throttle body spacers and the Tornado and it's type of products. If it spins it in the opposite direction that the turbo does, it could actually cause the intake air to kinda stall out and you might also loose boost not to mention the reduction of flow from changing it's direction of rotation.
