Default Flipping headers upside down on a 5.9

I'm about to do a swap on my Grand Cherokee from a 5.2 to a 5.9. If I were to notch out between the center two ports to clear the head bolt would I be able to flip a set of shorty header upside down so that the exhaust exits towards the front of the vehicle?

Are all the bolt holes in the same plane?? If they are, then that would likely work, hood clearance is gonna be an issue though.

I believe they are. I just didn't know if anyone on here had ever attempted it for say a demo demo derby? If they do fit like I hope then I will be modifying the hood to run the header pipes to mufflers with raincaps. I'll post pics ☺️

Also...do you happen to know if they make exhaust manifold spacer plates. Pretty much a gasket but like 1"+ in thickness? Thanks in advance!

Spacers you have two choices, get some custom made, or, cut the flanges of another set of headers, and use those as spacers. I think those are best 3/8ths thick though....

Ok that's what I thought. i know a company that does waterjet cutting. I'll have them cut me a set out of 1" stainless. I'm sure they'll be cheap lol.

For certain values thereof.

Don't forget, gonna need two gaskets on each side. Get the dead-soft aluminum, or copper fellers, those work great.

I don't think longevity or high end parts matters in a frankenbuild.

As long as the exhaust seals up I don't care 😊
