Default Engine swap

Hey Everyone

I currently have a 2.2L Charger non-turbo w/A413. I was thinking of doing an engine swap only problem is that I dont really want to change the tranny if I dont need to. Is there any better engines out there that I could through in to produce more power or any suggestions to the original engine that I could do like bore the 2.2. I welcome all suggestions

Thanks

Turbo. From what I understand, the 2.2l also had a turbo model. Go to a junk yard, get the turbo engine, buy a new or referbished turbo, swap computers, and you should be ready to roll. OR, you could rebuild the turbo engine to substain more boost and put a larger turbo on it. I'm not sure if you can upgrade to a 2.5l turbo or not. That's something to look into though.

Find a 2.2L Turbo II engine and drop it in, it will be almost twice the power of your current 2.2L.

In order to take the motor out what is the procedure? im too cheap to go and buy a manual. Do you unbolt the tranny from the motor then drop the motor out the bottom? or do you unbolt all the mounts and drop everything at once? Ive been thinkin about getting another motor/trans from the junkyard but need to know how to get it out first.

$15 Will get you a haynes manual. Don't be so cheap. You can drop the tranny out of the bottom, but the engine you will need a cherry picker to lift it out. Don't forget to make sure that the engines are from the same year cars and get the brain too. It's alot of work, make sure you do it right. I can't stress the book enough. You will run into many problems.

Keep the engine and tranny together and yank. The n/a 413 will not hold turbo power - you'll need a turbo 413. Stick with a TII setup. A 2.5l is better for the bigger cars and comes wtih a smaller mitsu turbo stock anyway.

2 words: LOAD LEVELER

$30 at Harbor freight. Worth every penny. I've been taking out and putting in these motors/trans by myself for a while now and its a snap with one of these.....
