Default Idle Issues

I have an 82 town and country 2.6l, was running great then all of a sudden it would run so rough at idle it would stall. The next day all was fine, lasted about 3 months then it happened again. Next day it was running fine again. Now about 2 months later it happened a third time and its still idling rough. If I do the brake gas thing to keep it from stalling it will drive fine. So if anyone has any ideas where to start looking I'm all ears. Thanks in advance for your help.
Bob

I don't think it's the carb being dirty, I have sprayed it down with carb cleaner and ran numerous cans of seafoam through it.

check for corrosion on the connectors to the pickup coil?
have you tested Pickup coil?
have you tested Ignition coil?
is it a timing issue?

I haven't really checked anything yet, We are in the -40's here. The car is parked till summer so I'm just trying to find out where to start looking once it warms up. As far as timing goes wouldn't have kept running bad after the first episode?
